Aung La N Sang to defend ONE middleweight belt in Myanmar showdown

MMA star and the pride of Myanmar Aung La N Sang will battle to continue his winning streak in Yangon on June 29. “The Burmese Python,” as he’s known, will defend his ONE
Championship middleweight belt on the “Spirit of a Warrior” fight card at Thuwunna Indoor Stadium.

The 32-year- old confirmed his upcoming title defense to Forbes on Saturday while at Crazy 88 MMA in Elkridge, Md., one of the gyms he trains at while at home in Maryland, USA. The fight will mark one year since he won the belt from the previously unbeaten Vitaly Bigdash, a Russian brawler who had scored a victory over Aung La in January, 2017.

In November, 2017 he fought again at Thuwunna Stadium, against Alain Ngalani who he stopped via guillotine choke submission in the first round. Three months later he landed the light heavyweight title with a 56-second knockout of Alexandre Machado, becoming a
dual-weight champion.

Although he does not know yet know who his opponent will be, before leaving for Florida to begin his training camp, he predicted to Forbes he will finish the fight in the third round.
